From the 1838 Wallcoverings V&A Decorative Papers Wallpaper Collection
First introduced at Marlborough House, a royal residence in London that opened its doors in 1852 to feature the inaugural exhibition by V&A’s first Director, Sir Henry Cole. Within the exhibition was the inspiration for this gorgeous wallcovering, taken from printed cotton Chintzes depicting branches of lilac and rose trees, showcasing magnificent colour and intricate detail inspired by nature. Please note: This design is wide width. Seen here in the Blush colourway.
