Traditional surface print methods have been used to create these elegant wallpapers, and many of the colourways boast an authentic historical provenance. Little Greene has scoured the archives of both London and Paris to source its latest heritage wallpaper collection, the aptly named ‘Révolution Papers’. Inspired by the innovations in wallpaper production which took place in the 18th century, these designs have been brought right up to date, with modern colours, inks and print processes.
Little Greene has once again burrowed deep within English Heritage’s hidden archive to create this collection of archive inspired designs. The collection comprises seven designs ranging from the stunning Wilton large scale damask, to the elegant High Street trail and the quirky New Bond Street with its quirky distress leather effect.
Building on the success of their Retrospective Paint collection (available from designerpaint.co.uk) we are delighted to see this collection from Little Greene of revived and recoloured authentic designs from the 1960’s and 70’s.
The collection includes some delightful bold colourways, such as the Starflower shown here, together with some soft subtle colours and patterns, like Bark and Fern.
The Little Greene Paint Company bring us a stunning retro collection of wallpapers from this decade of English post war revival, with its new found freedom of expression. All the designs are referenced to their original year, although produced as modern interpretations of the pattern and colours, to appeal to a new contemporary viewer.
London Wallpapers II is a collection of eight historic wallpaper designs, each redrawn from originals found in the extensive English Heritage archive at Kenwood House in London. Dating from 1755 to 1915, the papers were originally manufactured in London to decorate smart city and country homes and span a wider timescale than the original London Wallpapers collection.
A glamorous, eclectic mix of seven exotic designs which draws its inspiration from the delicate botanical and geometric motifs found on Japanese kimonos, reinterpreting them for 21st century usage. A harmonious fusion of east and west, old and new, which will add flair and panache to any interior scheme.
The London Wallpapers collection from the Little Greene Paint company has been inspired by eight historic papers from the English Heritage archive dating from the 1760’s to 1890’s.
Whilst not an exact copy of the original maintains its essence and traditional feel, re-scaled and re-coloured to achieve a more modern appeal through the use of vivid colours and metallic finishes. Little Greene’s aim is to bring these archive designs back to life, reinterpreting them in a way that makes them suitable for use in the 21st century.
