How to measure your blinds

Choose the blind type to see specific guidance for measuring.

Decide whether your blind will fit inside or outside the window recess, then follow the instructions below for accurate width and height measurements.

Width - measure the width inside the window recess at the top, middle and bottom and use the shortest measurement.
Length - measure the height inside the window recess on the left, middle and right and use the longest measurement.
Width - measure the width of the reveal plus any extra each side for the exact blind width required.
Length - measure the height of the reveal plus any extra at the top and bottom for the exact blind length required.

Chains on blinds can be dangerous. The law (EN13120 Standard) demands that they must hang at a safe height above the floor, so the length of chain we supply will depend on how high you'll be fitting your blind.

Please measure from where you'll fix the top of your blind down to the floor, ignoring anything which might be in the way (kitchen units, furniture etc).

Roller blinds come with a breakaway chain (a chain with 2 white plastic connectors) which will break when pressure is applied. The bottom of the chain must be at least 0.6 m from the floor.

Fitting instructions and safety components for all blinds will be included with the finished blind.

Inside recess - measure from where the top of the blind will be fixed inside the window recess, down to the floor.
Outside recess - measure from where the top of the blind will be fixed outside the window recess, down to the floor.
