From Lancashire, priding themselves on producing the highest quality wallcoverings, using some of the oldest, original printing technology in the world with contemporary patterns.
Celebrating the artistry and craftsmanship behind each design, 1838 Wallcoverings announces the second collaboration with the V&A. Working closely with the museum to select items from the archives, this collection features pattern from as far back as the 1700s, each with it's own story to tell. Inspired by woodblock prints, watercolour sketches, textile treasures and upholstery fabrics that draw on a multitude of artistic influences, each has been adapted to create wallpaper designs that both honour the history of the archive and provide enduring new contemporary colourways.
